Director of Student Services

As Director of Student Services, I am responsible for the Guidance, Special Education, and Title I programs at McCann Technical School.   It is my privilege and responsibility to see that each student at McCann receives the services and supports that he or she needs to have the best high school experience possible.  I work with a dedicated group of guidance counselors, special education and Title I faculty and support staff, and educational consultants to ensure that every student at McCann is ready to continue their education or enter the world of work in four short years.  We recognize and value the importance of sharing information and responsibility with our students’ families, and not only welcome but need your involvement!

Daily, we strive to bring to our work and teach our students the school’s core values of Communication, Achievement, Respect, and Ethics:

Communication strengthens partnership, development, and teamwork.

Achievement is attained through a strong work ethic.

Respect for all guarantees a safe learning environment.

Ethics ensure a dedication to honesty and integrity.

“What can I expect from the guidance department?  When should we start looking at colleges?  How do we find out what scholarships are available?  Who do we call about our child’s learning needs?  What supports are available for a struggling student at McCann?  Is my child being challenged enough, or should she be in AP math? Is it better to have a 504 Plan or an IEP when you go to college? What exactly is Title I, and who is eligible?” As you browse our website, you will find the answers for many of your questions, or something you see might generate new questions, or you may come up with ideas to share or a new direction to pursue.  Whether you are a student (past, present, or future!), a parent/guardian, or a member of the community, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
