These pages are designed to provide more information to students and parents who are beginning and during the college admissions process. This can be a very stressful and overwhelming time. Our hope, as a guidance department, is that these pages help to make this process a little easier. As always, if you have any questions, please contact us.

Seniors- please plan to meet with your guidance counselor in September or October. Come prepared- list of colleges applying to, parent recommendation sheet, student brag sheet, and questions.

When asking for recommendations, please give the writer at least one months notice. Also, provide them with the required addresses and names of colleges. Don't forget to send a thank you note.

You can request transcripts from Mrs. Skrocki, the guidance department secretary. Please provide 24 hours for processing.

College application fee waivers are available to qualified families. The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) provides a form called the "Request for Application Fee Waiver" to be completed by students with the help of their high school counselor. Suggested annual family income guidelines for this waiver are from about $29,900 to about $46,000, depending on family size. However, income is not the only determining factor in application fee waivers; many are based on the counselor's personal knowledge of family circumstances.

Students who have taken advantage of the College Board's SAT® Program fee-waiver service - which covers the basic test fees for the SAT Reasoning TestTM and SAT Subject TestsTM - may also be eligible for up to four application fee waivers for colleges. Please see your guidance counselor for more information.
