Program Overview
The dental assistant program has been in existence since 1962 and offers experienced, caring faculty and state of the art clinical facilities designed to help you succeed.
In addition to being accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc., (www.neasc.org, 781.271.0022) the dental assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association (www.ada.org, 312.440.4653, 211 E Chicago Avenue, Suite 1900, Chicago, IL 60611-2678).
The Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) is the nationally recognized premier certification and credentialing agency for dental assistants. The DANB examinations are required or recognized as meeting regulatory requirements in more than thirty states. McCann graduates are eligible to sit for the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) examination as administered by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc., 1.800.FOR.DANB, 444 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60611-3985.
Students who successfully complete the program receive a certificate in dental assisting and are eligible to take the national certification exam. In addition, graduates can transfer the credits earned to Berkshire Community College's Associate in Health Science degree and to Pennsylvania College's Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Health.
