Students in the Metal Fabrication program alternate between sheet metal and welding instruction to develop a complete set of metal-working skills. These skills help students fabricate a virtually limitless number of metal objects or structures to blue-print specifications. Students practice these hands-on skills by learning how to operate brakes, shears, presses, rolls, forming machines, welders, and metal-worker. Extensive instruction is also given in the various methods of welding such as stick, M.I.G. and T.I.G. welding. Also covered in the course are cutting processes including plasma arc cutting and oxyacetylene cutting. Extensive improvements in our metal fabrication shop result in a state-of-the-art facility for your education including new welding booths, plasma-cutter, press-break, and metal-shear. The Metal Fabrication department will help you develop the skills and work-ethic needed to be successful whether you decide to enter the field directly after high school or pursue further education.FAQ’s
