History

Part of the Mission of McCann Technical School is to graduate socially responsible individuals. To help students develop social responsibility, our History department focuses on helping students acquire an understanding of their role as citizens of their town, state, country, as well as the world at-large. United States and World History courses connect events of the past with what is currently happening in the world to give students a better understanding of the world in which they live. Using a variety of instructional methods including group discussions, textbook readings, reflective writings, interpretation of primary sources, projects, and viewing of historical documents, students develop a deep understanding of history and its importance in helping them grow into productive, participating citizens in a democratic society.
