Financial Aid
McCann participates in Federal Pell Grants and Massachusetts and Vermont state grant programs.
To be eligible for financial aid, you must meet certain requirements. You must:
- Be a U. S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Be registered with the Selective Service (if required)
- Attend a college that participates in the programs
- Be working toward a degree or certificate
- Be making satisfactory academic progress
- Be in attendance
- Not owe a refund on a Federal grant
- Not be in default on a Federal educational loan
- Have “financial need” as determined in part by this form (FAFSA form)
Anyone applying for any type of Financial Aid must have a Needs Analysis completed. Fill out this form carefully online at https://fafsa.ed.gov/ or call 800-433-3243 or 800-394-7084 for a paper copy to complete and mail. Any errors in the information submitted will necessitate reprocessing.

Refund Policy
McCann postsecondary programs adhere to the following refund policy:
- Full tuition refunds are granted for any program cancelled by McCann.
- A full tuition refund is given before the first day of class, 75% tuition refund is given for class days 1-6, 50% for class days 7-10, and no tuition refund after 10 class days.
- Refunds are processed after the end of the refund period. Refund checks are mailed to the student's home address on file in the superintendent's office within 15 days of refund approval.
- No refunds for books, fees, or kits.
Satisfactory Academic Progress
Students applying for or participating in federal or state financial aid programs of any type must make satisfactory academic progress toward a certificate to maintain eligibility for financial aid consideration.
To achieve satisfactory academic progress, students must meet the following criteria:

A student muss be enrolled full-time.

A student must be in compliance with the school attendance policy.

A student must earn a passing grade, as outlined in the school handbook, at the end of first semester in all subject areas in order to enter second semester.
Types of Aid
Pell Grant
Students need to apply for this grant. Free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 2022-2023 is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Our school code is 015637. McCann will need copies of the 2020 Federal Tax Return, including all schedules and W-2 forms for the student and parent (if applicable). Verification on any other types of income including statement of TANF benefits for calendar year 2020-2021, statement of social security benefits, etc.
State Grant
By applying for a Pell Grant information is automatically sent to the state of residence. State grants have deadlines. Massachusetts deadline is May 1st.
Other Grants
Any scholarships awarded to students are accepted by McCann.
Sponsors
McCann postsecondary programs are recognized by Massachusetts as training programs. Individuals who qualify can extend their unemployment benefits while taking a program.
MassHire Berkshire Career Center, a Massachusetts one-stop career center, also sponsors individuals who qualify by providing some financial assistance.
