Looking for a meaningful, hands-on career in healthcare where you can truly make a difference? Dental Assisting offers a dynamic and rewarding path, and McCann Technical School provides the most comprehensive program in Berkshire County.

Dental assistants are in high demand, making it an excellent time to enter the field. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment is projected to grow by 8%, faster than the average for many occupations, offering strong job stability and opportunities for advancement. With this continued growth, wages are competitive, making it a rewarding and financially appealing career choice.

Our 1,250-hour program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation through the American Dental Association, preparing you to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board exam. Upon passing, you will earn your Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential, unlocking advanced skills, greater responsibility, and higher earning potential.

As a dental assistant, you will:

  • Work chairside alongside dentists in a clinical setting
  • Take dental radiographs
  • Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols
  • Support patient comfort and care
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, home care, and post-operative instructions

Earning your CDA sets you apart. Many dentists prefer certified assistants  because they are qualified to perform expanded functions that non-certified assistants cannot.

Career opportunities are diverse and flexible, including:

  • Chairside assisting
  • Sterilization assisting
  • Dental office administration
  • Specialty practices (orthodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, pediatrics, endodontics)
  • Positions in veterans’ facilities
  • Opportunities with dental insurance or supply companies

Start building a stable, respected career in healthcare, where your skills matter every day!
