The heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration field is rapidly expanding, offering high-paying, diverse career opportunities in installing, maintaining, and servicing climate control systems across residential and commercial properties. As nearly all new homes and many commercial buildings use advanced climate systems and energy management systems, the demand for skilled professionals is increasing. The HVAC/R program equips students with essential skills in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing various systems, including heating, cooling, and refrigeration. Training includes practical experience with commercial systems, safety protocols, and relevant certifications such as EPA 608 and OSHA 10-Hour CareerSafe. Graduates can pursue roles ranging from HVAC/R service technician to mechanical engineer, with further education enabling career advancement. Licensure preparation and hands-on experience through cooperative education partnerships ensure students are well-prepared for a range of opportunities in this growing field.
