Advanced Manufacturing Technology

The Advanced Manufacturing Technology program provides students a safe environment in which to learn the skills demanded of 21st century advanced manufacturing. Course content includes many aspects of manufacturing practices such as computer numerical control (CNC), robotic work cell programming, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, as well as machine and program setup and operations, all of which are delivered in a competency-based manner. The program also includes instruction in safety, quality-control/assurance measures, and leadership skills.  This program focuses on transferable skills that are applicable in a variety of manufacturing settings and stresses understanding and demonstration of the highly technological tools, machines, instruments, materials, processes and systems in the manufacturing business and industry. There is currently a very high demand for skilled individuals in the manufacturing sector and students completing the Advanced Manufacturing program are ready to immediately enter the workforce and/or continue their education.

Robotic Manufacturing at McCann

The next generation of Advanced Manufacturing has arrived at McCann.  Students in AMT learn the latest techniques in automated manufacturing thanks to the FANUC robotic arm equipment McCann was able to purchase through the Governors Skills Workforce Development grants.
