CAD

Career opportunities in the fields of mechanical design, architectural design and computer animation require designers that are competent, knowledgeable and highly-skilled in the use of the latest software and methods. The CAD department trains students utilizing the latest software including AutoCAD, PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Cimatron, SoftPlan, Sweet Home 3D, RevIt, Google SketchUp, Maya, ZBrush and Unity. CAD students utilize the design process to solve real world projects. With the help of high-end software, hands-on DFM and DFA studies and a variety of 3D printers, students are able to take the design process through all of its stages by brainstorming, designing, creating a working prototype, troubleshooting and eventually manufacturing. Creating 3D models, technical drawings, floor plans, computer animations, and working prototypes prepares students to pursue careers in manufacturing, construction, animation or further their CAD education at the college level.

Unreal Engine Student Demonstration

Class of 2019 students Ryan Sagendorph, James Duprea, and Aaron Cole are learning 3D-Animation and Video Game Design.  This video game is fully playable and developed using UnrealEngine, a video game design program used in all of today's hottest video games.  There are hours and hours of programming that go into 3D-Animation and Video Game Design to make even just the characters move correctly.  Hundreds of animators work together on a single game.  Our CAD program has talented students working diligently on these types of projects as well as Architectural designs and mechanical drawings.  The students in our CAD program learn the latest software programs and design techniques in all three areas.
